Blossoms and Bygones
Today, the second Sunday in May, my village of Haddenham celebrates itself with a fete or feast of activities: open gardens, trailer rides, guided tours of orchards and conservation areas, and exhibitions of all kinds. My involvement is with the Conservation Room in the village centre, where there are lots of things to see and do, specially for children. I have just set up an exhibition of Swift, Barn Owl and Little Owl nestboxes, plus a supply of Barn Owl pellets for the children to pick to pieces in order to identify the prey remains.
